Hi! Nice to meet you :)

Hi! Thank you for stopping by! I thought it was time to tell you I little bit more about myself. Since I did not really know what to tell you about me I perused the internet for some good questions which I will answer know to introduce myself to you.
So here we go:

Who are you?
I am Jirrine, 22 years old and I live in the Netherlands. I am about to start the last year of my bachelor’s degree in American Studies and I also did one year of the English Language and Culture bachelor. I loved the literature courses (no suprise here!) but I had extreme difficulties with the Linguistic courses so I just decided to focus on finishing one degree. I might pursue something English related in the future though. I live with my boyfriend and my two kitties, Bakso & Fenix.

What is your favorite genre? What do you read the most?
I mostly read YA, but sometimes I pick up Adult or Middle Grade books. My favorite genre is Dystopian and a close second is Historical Fiction. Apart from those two I read basically anything except for Erotica. I would say that my least favorite genre is chicklit/romance. I read the most dystopian novels and I have lot of unread dystopians on my shelf.

In what format do you prefer to read?
I think I actually like paperback best. By far the most of my books are paperbacks. Often because of budget reasons but I think that some hardcover books are too heavy and to bothersome to read. I do own an iPad on which I read the occasional ebook, usually novella’s or freebies. But I love the smell and feel of a new book too much to read ebooks often.

In which manner do you organize your books?
Most people that know really find my way of organizing my books odd. I have one book shelf in my house and all my unread books in there are spines facing backwards. For me this makes it really visual to see what I still have to read. The rest of my books are sorted by height and then I group series together and standalones together. I do not keep to color coordinated or alphabetically because I get annoyed when all of them are different heights.

What other things do you like to do beside reading?
Travelling! Next week I am going camping in France for a couple of weeks with my boyfriend. I like to watch television, favorites are Game of Thrones and New Girl. I also love Scandal.

I don’t know a lot of people that really love to read in person, so I love you get to know all of you! Leave your blog in the comment and then I will stop by to check it out πŸ™‚

  1. It’s nice to meet you, Jirrine! I’m like you, I love reading and traveling, too. I hope you’ll have a good time camping in France with your boyfriend.
I (hopefully) will finish my Bachelor’s degree in English language and literature, as well as in general linguistics in August. Then, I’ll continue with my MA in English language and literature, and also start being a substitue teacher. I love linguistics! I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it if you continue with it πŸ™‚ I know that in my first year I found it really hard, but now it’s awesome – it’s like doing sudoku with phrases πŸ˜€

    • Thank you! Linguistics seems like Chinese to me. I tried to introduction course twice and failed twice. Maybe someday I will pursue it further! Good luck with finishing your degree! Busy month(s) ahead of you then? Thank you so much for stopping by and nice to meet you!

  2. Hi Jirrine, awesome to meet you. I’m Kelly and I blog over at Diva Booknerd. I absolutely love YA dystopians, post apocalyptic too. I wasn’t a fan of historical until I read The Winner’s Curse and Prisoner of Night and Fog, both brilliant books. I look forward to popping by and checking out your reviews and recommendations.

    • Nice to meet you too :). I will definitly be checking your blog out as well! I like that there are more and more ya historical fiction titles! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you for your comment! I love to read them :)
